Cultural responsiveness, diversity and equity
This strand focuses on identifying, extending and uplifting culturally sustaining and relational practices, promoting diversity and equity within Aotearoa’s education system. The strand re/centres perspectives of Māori, Pacific and other groups who have historically been marginalised, with the aim of celebrating different ways of being and knowing. Projects in this strand also consider how we might braid indigenous and western knowledge to support mokopuna and whānau, and empower teachers and others to address ongoing inequities in education.
